My name is Ryan and I am a senior at SCLS, and it is with pleasure that I get to be Pres for EP for SMICMUN this year.

I will be focusing on the topic of "Modernizing European Union Consumer Protection Laws for the Digital Age". I'm looking forward to seeing how you delegates navigate the grey areas of balancing Data protection and User privacy with the potential overregulation and sovereignty of digital platforms, and propose actionable frameworks that hold bad actors in the space accountable.

My name is Melody Ma, and I am a freshman student at Shanghai High School International Division. I am extremely honored and excited to serve as one of your deputy presidents for the European Parliament at this year's SMICMUN conference. Through my past 1.5 years of MUN journey, I have attended six different conferences, and this year's SMICMUN marks my seventh conference and my first time chairing.

My main topic of focus would be topic 1, strengthening European energy independence and reducing reliance on external suppliers. Energy security is honestly one of the biggest geopolitical challenges Europe is dealing with right now, so I can't wait to see what kind of innovative resolutions you come up with and how you handle the intense debates once the conference gets going.

Whether you are an experienced delegate or a newbie, we are here to support you. I would say that Model UN is not just about competing, but about learning, collaborating, and seeing critical world issues through diverse perspectives. So, don't be shy. Actively participate in diplomatic negotiations and use your creativity in problem-solving!

My name is Arran Ritchie, a senior at Shanghai SMIC Private School. I am deeply honoured to serve as your Deputy President for European Parliament in this edition of SMICMUN.

I am covering debate on the topic of "Strengthening European Energy Independence and Reducing Reliance on External Suppliers." As countries within the EU are exposed to energy supply shocks from around the world, they must adapt, collaborate, and come out stronger.
